HC-Tim Tyree

Coach Tim Tyree has been coaching high school and youth football for over 35 years. Coach Tyree is very anxious to coach football again and to coach his grandson,
Ryne Tyree.
Coach T, as mentioned above, has been coaching for quite a few years and has established a great win/loss record. His record is 220 wins and 25 losses in youth football.
Coach T feels that he has been successful in the football coaching world because he teaches the fundamentals of football, which are tackling, blocking, aggressiveness, toughness, being organized, and scouting his opponents. Coach starts at the beginning
of his first practice by making sure that all players can do all calisthenics in sync. If his players are not In unison, then they will continue to do calls until they are in sync. Also, what has made his win/loss record so great, is because, he is a specialist in speed, strength, agility, and “Combine Test and Measurements” (which is so important in progressing to the next level.
Coach T has a unique scouting process, that has worked quite well for his past teams. Team money is spent paying a person to film the next opponent that his team will be playing. Through his “Scouting Process”, Coach T knows exactly how to defend the opponents, and how to score, through their weaknesses, and the “Keys” that he learns from the films. Coach T spends countless hours in preparation of the upcoming team
Coach Tyree’s sons, Brooks and Brandon also have experience in coaching and will be assisting Coach Tim Tyree. Brooks Tyree, played on Horizon’s only state championship team and played and started both ways as a junior and senior. Brooks, as a fullback, caught the winning touchdown with 26 seconds remaining in the state championship game. Brooks understands how to win. Brandon, Coach Tyree’s other son, who also played for Horizon, still holds the most unassisted tackles for all times, which he accomplished over 30 years ago. The Tyrees know how to win.
The Tyrees want to be a part of a winning tradition with Deer Valley Pop Warner.

            HC-Brian Mallet

Introducing Coach Malott! Brian joins us, as the new head coach of the U14 “SkyHawks”. Coach Malott comes to us with strong recommendations, including former NFL and CFL player and coach, Marcello Simmons. He also brings a variety of football experiences, that help put his players and staff in positions to succeed and improve their craft.

As a player, Brian played in the Ontario Football Conference (OUA) during his college career, for The Laurier Golden Hawks, and The McMaster Marauders. Brian also spent summers training at the University of Michigan, under Receivers coach Eric Campbell.
Coach Malott has 20 years of coaching experience, coaching from the age of 15, in the minor levels, to high school, and previously, at the University level with the Guelph Gryphons Football Team (Head Wide Receiver coach and Assistant Offensive Coach).
We are excited to welcome Coach Malott to the Deer Valley Football family, and look forward to the tireless effort and positivity he brings to the field. He is also very well versed in the College recruiting process, and can offer all our coaches, players, and families, insights on how the journey from high school to the next level of competitive football can be, the challenges and pressures student-athletes will face, during their high school careers.
“I am very excited to be here. My family ties run very deep in the Deer Valley area, and I can’t wait to get back onto the field and make the members of our football community proud!”
Come out to our next camp, for a chance to meet Coach M, and chat about football, with him, and the rest of our dedicated coaches.
